The Travelling Canvas – Jennifer Bouron

April sees us heading across the channel for our first international collaboration for The Travelling Canvas art project.

We’re super excited to have partnered with print designer & illustrator, Jennifer Bouron to bring you a bag packed full of pastel colours and cute creations.

For those who don’t know you, please can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m Jennifer, I’m a freelance illustrator/print designer based in France. I create illustration and patterns for various brands and magazine. I also have an online shop where I sell artworks and postcards.

What was the inspiration behind your design for The Travelling Canvas?

I wanted to have several elements and shapes that can fit together, a bit like a puzzle.

We think tote bags are awesome, but why do you love totes?

I love tote bags because they are useful, really easy to bring everywhere. They also reflect your personality and showcase what you like.

Do you have any tips for anyone to keep in mind when designing their own tote bag design?

It should be simple without too much detail.

What is your favourite tote bag you’ve ever owned?

I can’t choose! I love them all!

If you could send your tote bag to anyone in the world who would it be and why?

Good question! I think I would send it to someone who had never used a tote bag, so they could realise how awesome they are!

What is in your bag right now?

Wallet, notebook, few post office receipts, a bottle of water and a pen.
