Awesome Trends – Ten Cat Themed Merch Ideas

Tagged with:

If you didn’t know already, the internet is obsessed with our cute little feline friends. If you haven’t seen a video of a cat doing the washing up whilst skateboarding and juggling, then you’re obviously not doing the internet right. The cat-love is also very real when it comes to merch and print; here’s ten great examples of how creative people have incorporated kitties into their world of art.

1. Cats on Notebooks

Let’s start with the The No Such Disco who’s created Fat Kitty. Hopefully these exercise books will help him work off a few pounds. This is a great example of showing how people can use the colour of the paper to work as their design! These guys have filled the notebook with black, and leaving the artwork as blank which means the design comes through as the colour of the notebook! Available in Grey, Brown or White.

2. Cats on Patches

Cats don’t always have to be cute. Sometimes they look rad just hanging out with a skull, dagger and moon. Screen printed patches by the appropriately named – Nine Lives.

3. Cats on Tote Bags

This poor cat seems to have cooties. It doesn’t matter because this blue cat is still a cutie. And Nicola Rowlands knows her stuff, she’s sold 6000 items via her Etsy store! The cat is definitely out of the bag!

4. More Cats on Notebooks!

Did you know that a cat pattern is actually called a ‘cattern?’ Well you do now. Cattern notebooks by the queen of everything cat based on the internet – Doodlecats!

A repeated pattern is a great way to make your product stand out, especially on products like notebooks and prints!

5. Cats on Magnets

No need to blush – just because you’re our first cat Magnet, there’s no need to be shy. Catty magnet goodness by Jenna Lee Alldread. Big bold colours and a full design make these Magnets a winner.

6. Cats on Badge Packs

I like cats, you like cats, we like cats but I Like Cats have made cool and festive badge packs. Great for displaying more than one cat at a time.

This design is a great example of incorporating the design of the badge pack into your design of badges, sometimes it’s great to design something that fits together when you combine the two!

7. Cats on 76mm Badges

It’s Friday night, you’re hitting the mean streets and you want to look badass in your jeans jacket. Get your cat badge out, pin it through the denim and bobcat’s your uncle. Design by Emma Carlisle. Emma’s badge had some small text in it, which meant only one thing.. go large! Move up from a 25mm to a 58 or 76!

8. Cats on Tattoo Sheets

Temporary tattoo sheets have been super popular recently and it’s not hard to see why. Doodlecats has created these sweet sheets of ‘cattoo’ tattoo treats! Colour is what it’s all about when designing a great tattoo sheet. Pick designs with strong lines, nothing too fiddly and leave plenty of space around each to easily cut them out.

9. Cats on Custom Shaped Stickers

Another one to add to the litter, custom shaped cat stickers by The Printed Peanut.

10. Cats on Badges

Last but not least, we love this Bad Cats Club logo which adorns these badges. Design by Daggers For Teeth.

If you love cats and cat merch as much we do, then don’t forget to share this post on Facebook & Twitter!
