9 Reasons Why Primavera Festival Is Totally Awesome!

You might have noticed but last week we were out in Barcelona as sponsors for the Flatstock Gig Poster Event at Primavera Sound.  We’d love to share nine reasons why the festival totally rules and you should go next year!

BARCELONA:

It’s dead simple, Barcelona rules. Whether you want to look at touristy things, go to the beach all day, go in the sea, go to great bars or eat all kinds of food and all within striking distance… then Barcelona is the place for you. Not to mention having a killer music fest on at the same time!

THE LINE-UP:

Whether you’re looking for the next big thing, or you want to watch Caribou at 3 am with the Mediterranean as a backdrop, then the line up is great. We managed to see such bands as Black Keys, American Football, The Strokes, Sleaford Mods, Death From Above 1979 and loads more!

HOLIDAY:

As mentioned above, the best thing is that you can also turn your festival experience into an awesome holiday! Top up your tan on the beach or eat like a king in the city’s finest restaurants.

FLATSTOCK:

Yep, gig poster art is the best. Nothing beats an hour strolling through the artists’ stalls and soaking in all their awesome work.. and then treating yourself to something you can keep forever to remember the festival. Can we also just add that all the artists were super damn nice!  More here.

153

PRIMAVERA PRO:

For a few extra Euros you can pick up a Primavera Pro pass and this entitles you to backstage stuff / artist talks / showcases and loads of special stuff. It’s a really cool extra for if you want to get more involved with the festival.

154

LOCATION & AMENITIES:

The festival itself is next to the beach! It’s also set in a concrete park which means that if it rains that you’re not covered head to toe in mud. It’s set out really nicely with loads of different stages that are easy to access meaning you won’t miss your favourite band. There’s little security / police because they don’t seem to have any trouble! The food trucks also totally rule and everyone is catered for.

156

PEOPLE:

At the stand we met people from all round the world – loads of Brits (especially our Glaswegian friends!) and from far flung places like Australia, Venezuela and Israel. This makes for a great feeling of culture and as aforementioned – everyone was really friendly!

157

158

FREE STUFF:

As with loads of major events, there’s always free stuff. We were giving away totes, tees, stickers and lots more. It was cool to see people walking around with our bags! Even Firestone were there giving out bright red pork pie style hats – crazy! We also made Flatstock badges & gave them away too…

MERCH & BRANDING:

We love looking at other people’s merch and branding and there was plenty on display. Check out what Rough Trade were up to here. There was loads of great examples of interesting merchandise from bands & brands alike and it’s always cool to soak up new ideas form creative minds!

CONCLUSION:

We’ll see you at Primavera 2016 for one of the world’s most awesome & diverse festivals which is held in one of the world’s most interesting and cultural cities!
