We’ve backed them from the beginning, introducing BELLA+CANVAS

Tagged with:

Since beginning our journey in 2005, we’re constantly growing and developing to make sure that we can provide our customers with the most Awesome apparel and garments possible. Over the past few years, we’ve had some amazing manufacturers to supply us with not only the most premium garments that are with superior craftsmanship, but also ones that are made with our sustainably-minded buyers in mind.

We thought it was about time we introduced you to the great BELLA+CANVAS, who have been a staple supplier for us for as long as we can remember. BELLA+CANVAS are based in the USA and pride themselves on their premium quality basics. They have sustainably established themselves as the go-to apparel company at wholesale and resale, and we have always valued them as one of our top garment suppliers.

They were founded by Danny and Marco, who in 1992 started their own screen printing company right after graduating from high school. By 1995, they realised the lack of women’s garments in the market and they decided to launch their own cut and sew operation – Bella, to fill the void within the market. As 1998 came around, Danny and Marco shifted their positioning as a business towards manufacturing, as popularity of their products grew each year. Due to the increase in demand for their products, they started to offer the exact same quality in a men’s line and Canvas was born.

By 2010 the company introduced the first ever 40 single triblend to the market, whilst you may see many t-shirts offering 100% cotton, Danny and Marco created a 3 component material which would become increasingly popular due to its softer feel. And furthermore a revolutionary new fabric for wholesale is introduced, called Flowy Poly-Viscose. After a busy two year period, Danny and Marco realised that the two brands were now due to merge together and in 2021 was when BELLA+CANVAS officially launched as one brand.

So where are Bella+Canvas shirts made?

Bella+Canvas deeply believe in American made shirts, they dedicate immeasurable resources to growing their domestic sewing during the two-plus decades that they’ve been manufacturing tees. They employ over 1000 people in their LA facility, including their domestic sewing operation that yields a whopping 10 million units per year alone.

What makes them so special?

It’s simple really, there are four main factors that contribute to not only to the feel and the quality of the garments that they produce, but also the world in which they are produced:

  • Combed and Ring-spun Airlume Cotton. Read more about it here.
  • USA Strong Production. Read more about it here.
  • Eco-Friendly Process. Read more about it here.
  • Innovation and Inspiration. Read more about it here.

Not only are their products amazing and perfect for use, but they have an amazing workplace culture which is beneficial to every single staff member. BELLA+CANVAS provide a workplace where entrepreneurial spirit thrives, it is a collaborative environment where all people have a voice. The Be Different mentality is encouraged within each different department and eco-conscious practices are encouraged throughout the day to day lives of each employee.
