How to hit ground running in 2017!

Tagged with:

As you’ll know from our posts on the internet, we love spreading a bit of bit of positivity and we also love to motivate and inspire all our friends and customers. You’re probably sick of hearing the whole ‘new year, new me’ thing from people BUT it’s a positive sentiment and a great way to draw a line in the sand and make 2017 the most awesome year of your life! We’ve put together some top merch / life tips for 2017 and how to hit the ground running!

Sign up for art fair / craft market:

So many good art fairs and craft markets about – there’s no excuse not to get your wares ready and make yourself some cash, and promote your mad skills! Great examples –  Northern Craft and Etsy Team Leeds.

Work out of your comfort zone:

Create something different! Whatever you do try something new and advance your creative skills. It’s easy to work inside your own bubble, but look at what your peers are doing and keep up with the Jones’! Or just do it better!

Draw / make something every day:

We’re super lucky that we get to make awesome things every day when we’re working. We love it when we see you guys tweeting / Instagramming out daily doodles. Practice only makes perfect!

Make sure you’re on Instagram – promote yourself properly!

We love sharing your work on our social pages. So many times we’ll get sent your pictures and you don’t have an Instagram page! All artists should have one really – it’s the ideal platform for promotion and discovery. Talking about promotion, make sure you’re doing that for yourself or business! Social pages, blogs, emails etc – get on it and make 2017 awesome!

Give Mercht a go!

Yep – in 2016, we launched Mercht which is a super easy way to upload your design on to a T-shirt, bag or mug (more products coming soon) and then sell online! It’s free to have a go and much more fun than joining the gym!

Keep it positive and work hard!

We’re 100% about keeping it as posi as possible and just getting as much done as is humanly achievable! If you don’t push yourself in 2017, then you’ll never know what you’re capable of. Check this out for how to keep it very posi!

Team Awesome worked hard in 2016 and we’re ready to step it up in 2017!

Calendars: We’ve only just launched these and they’re flying out of the machines! There’s still time to get some printed and to sell to your fans for 2017.

iPhone 7 Cases: Another newbie and no min order on them, they’re perfect to display artwork, promote your band or brand and just waiting for your logos!

Beanies: We keep adding new styles and beanies are now a popular product all year round! The Beechfield Blizzard beanies are proving to be super-popular.. no wonder, they’re softer than sleeping in a box of tissues.

I don’t think we need to extoll the virtues of T-shirts, stickers and badges – the cornerstone triumvirate of the merchandise world but let’s remind you about these classic ideas:

Tote bags: We literally screen print 1000s of these every day! They’re the ultimate product for displaying your logo / artwork on a long lasting, every day item.

Mugs: No min order, easy to sell, something that your customers use every day – well easy to order!

Notebooks: Since we launched notebooks a couple of years back, they’ve quickly become one of our most popular products! What will you come up with on yours in 2017?

Coloured tea towels:  If you’re into adding a splash of colour to your merch, then we’ve just added 6 colours to our tea towel range. They’re perfect for schools to get pupils involved in a project, great to brand up your bar or restaurant, or ideal as an awesome gift item for your Etsy store or craft fair!

Colouring books: Got a load of doodles lying about? How about a whole load of brilliant designs that you think people would love to colour in? Create your very own colouring in book for the masses!

Temporary tattoos: If anyone asks us our favourite ever product, the first thing we say is temporary tattoos! They rule. End of. Ideal for everything from festivals to wedding favours. Word.

Oh, bet you guys didn’t know that we made all of these 12 awesome products? And did you know that we have special offers all year round?

Obviously we’re going to be pushing ourselves hard in 2017! We’re aiming to improve everything we do – there’ll be loads of new products (so excited about these!) as well as making sure our golden customer service standards are kept super-high! All this will be wrapped around the constant improvement of our HQ. We have awesome new offices and a new layout to increase productivity! Zing!

Thanks for reading this (feel free to share it) and let’s make 2017 the most awesome year ever!
